Plus Contest Luncheon with Guest Doug Grant, K1DG
The DFW Contest Group announces the 2013 DFW Contest Forum to be held on Friday, June 7 in conjunction with Ham Com at the Plano Center in Plano, Texas.
The DFW Contest Forum kicks off with a light luncheon and special guest speaker Doug Grant, K1DG, followed by four hours of presentations on contesting. Presentations during the Contest Forum will cover topics from the beginner to advanced contest topics;
11:30-12:45: Doug Grant: WRTC2014 - The Olympics of RadioSport Return to the USA
1:00-2:00: Why Contesting / Introduction to Contesting
2:00-3:00: Contest Operating Best Practices
3:00-4:00: Station Building
4:00-5:00: Antennas for Contesting
The cost for the Luncheon is $20 and includes admission to the first hour presentation with special guest Doug Grant, K1DG as well as a Deli Sandwich with condiments, potato salad, deli chips, cookie, soft drink and mint. Admission price also gives you a chance to win one of our several door prizes. Seating is limited to 200. Tickets must be purchased in advance using the information below. There is no charge for the remaining 4 hours of presentations and all are welcome to attend.

Contest Luncheon Special Guest, Doug Grant, K1DG
Doug has been licensed since 1967. Over the years, he has managed to collect plaques for first-place scores in single-op, single-op-assisted, multi-single, multi-2 and multi-multi categories from his own station and numerous host stations. In addition, he was a competitor in 5 WRTC events, winning one gold and two bronze medals. He is past president of the Yankee Clipper Contest Club, past member and Chairman of the ARRL Contest Advisory Committee, member of the CQWW Contest Committee and has chaired the Dayton Hamvention Contest Forum for over 10 years. Along with being a "professor" at Contest University he is also Director of Contest University and the World Wide Radio Operators Foundation, and Chairman of the WRTC2014 Organizing Committee.
